The podcast is usually great and Marc is a terrific interviews. But Nick DiPaulo is disgusting - wishing someone gets a lump is appalling and for Marc to fail to call him on this is worse than disappointing. About the worst garbage I've ever heard. There is no excuse
ever for this and he says it to someone in his audience he finds annoying. Mel Brooks taking on Hitler is funny. This is just beyond tasteless.

I agree with Bert for the most part re: Lisa Lampanelli. I think the thing of it is, Marc is not an unbiased interviewer. We expected the Marc we 'know' to have certain biases against Lisa and wanted to see her called on all that bullshit. What we got was something else - he saw her live in Montreal had an 'electric' experience and came out with a strong positive bias. He needles her a touch but seeing as she was doing an 'I'm so sensitive I cry at tweets from trolls' routine it was never going to end up being the way we wanted.

I enjoyed it for what it was just what it was, was not the best.

As for this live show: beautiful.

I like TAL and Ira but the Ira Glass worship thing is a bit much. Even he thinks so. Artie was very funny.

    olucci (and others),

I'll cop to being disappointed to learn she's a wuss. But if she were a man I doubt you'd take issue with her neuroses, her biases, or her ambition...else how could you bear to listen to WTF at all?

By the way, I don't mean to call Marc an asshole. Want to make that totally clear. By Asshole Marc, I mean what Eugene Mirman called The Beast. With that said, that's enough from me now.

You know, a bad interview would be one that didn't make an impression. That interview left a very clear impression of a completely horrible woman. I'd be surprised if I was the only one who occasionally wanted a WTF interviewee to have to go a few rounds with Asshole Marc. The Kevin Smith episode would be another example. But it's not a big deal. Certainly not a reason to stop listening.

I thought the Lisa Lampanelli interview was one of the best.

Obviously, that was the point. Tough to follow, was it?

Wish you would have followed your own advice. You could have just posted your final 2 sentences, but instead you rambled on like a self-important douche. Congrats.

Incredible episode Marc, keep up the good work.

I came close to writing a comment on the Lisa Lampanelli episode. She boasts about how rich she is and how she yells at the help. She bitches about her dimwit fans when they try to imitate her notfunny routine. And she indulges in pathetic fantasies of her significance in the history of comedy. Unpleasantly neurotic throughout, all of it wrapped up with a self-indulgent wheedling laugh. I'd expect you to be tougher on that. Particularly since you trailed it the episode before by saying her show was dark the way Kinison was dark. It's partly thanks to you that we know how dark that was. But instead the interview was the burbling of two showbiz buddies. Like I say, I nearly posted, but didn't because you obviously have no use for someone you don't know wasting their time calling you a pussy on the internet. If you have nothing good to say, say nothing. That's why I'm posting on this episode instead, which was terrific from start to finish and is the reason your podcast is the best. Keep it up, Marc.
