There is no real need to explain more, because it is simply true on its face. If yo believe that you are the center of the universe and that everyone else can go fuck themselves because you're so smart and so rich (or hope to be soon) then by definition you are an asshole and selfish to boot.
Pretty stright-forward if you ask me.

"And furthermore, "non-liberal economic views ARE motivated by nothing but ego and greed"... :-) Have a nice day ... Dick"
Sorry but I'm a big fan of precision in my thoughts and deeds. Simply, IMHO Libertarians that I have known are all selfish a**holes by definition. You can't be a Libertarian without being one I'm afraid. Pretty comprehensive explanation eh?
And furthermore, "non-liberal economic views as motivated by nothing but ego and greed"...

Your only arguments against Stanhope, or libertarianism in general, are mere ad hominems that contain no actual substance or thought. If you don't agree with Bill, Stanhope, or libertarianism, why not give an actual thoughtful response instead of basically saying "anyone who is a libertarian is a selfish moron."
Aside: I'm not a libertarian whatsoever, but I am disgusted by people who dismiss all non-liberal economic views as motivated by nothing but ego and greed.
Stanhope says real shit in front of people that dont wanna hear it and hold no quarter. Closest thing to Hicks I've seen. I cry watching his routines, for the sheer fucking pure truth that resonates from the man. We need more of this, what the fuck does it make you if you poke shit at some one leaning Libertarian.
Vent over.
I like him. He was always all about partying hard and having great stories. Right now, maybe he's feeling middle age more than people who played it safer than he did. He sounded kind of tired in your interview.
I remember though that when he first started getting attention, there were a lot of people saying he was the new Bill Hicks. That's not a comparison anyone's going to come out well from. But it strikes me as wrong mainly because Hicks thought a lot, and deeply, about the world. One of his bits was about rednecks calling him a "reader". Stanhope never did that, and to be honest never seemed that interested in doing it. There's a toecurling YouTube of Stanhope doing a standup spot alongside Alex Jones, the well known fatnecked pinhead. It couldn't have been more obvious how out of his depth Doug was. I remember him describing his Libertarian Party campaign-that-never-happened as a "goof". Interesting to hear him describe Girls Gone Wild the same way.
If politics doesn't interest you, it's probably a mistake to get involved. Take a lesson from Louie. This week he visited the troops. Along with a country singer in cowboy boots. There wasn't any politics. Instead, ebony and ivory bonded over a cute ducky wucky.
Louie CK is a smart man.
He doesn't believe the government is going to fix everything, nor is it sane or safe for us to count on them to do so. Otherwise, I bet they'd agree with him on most of the stuff relevant to the message behind his jokes.
Kneejerk, ignorant fools.
You will be old Stanhopeless ... and you know who will be saving your lonely old ass?
Today's kids ..
If no-one helped your mom is because they were LIbertarians ..heartless ignorant selfish & angry leftovers from society
Otherwise I found it an entertaining interview and his perspectives on other things mostly right on. Good interview once again.
