Demetri Martin and Marc have important things to talk about, mostly involving the hard knocks Demetri took from other comics when he started out and his recent ventures into film and TV. There's also the matter of having a father who was a priest. Plus, Marc frets over his keynote speech at the Just For Laughs festival. This episode is sponsored by Comedy Central.

Interjection: about the diner thing. There is a serious fucking diner in Berkeley oddly enough.

If Marc doesn't let Demetri talk more, I'm going to punch him in the throat. He needs to listen. T_T
I am learning SO much about Demetri it's crazy. I feel like I'm invading his personal space.
"I don't WANT to like you, but I do." LOL. Nice.
Demetri starts at around 15 minutes.

This is crazy. This dude is so blunt, and I'm like.. feeling defensive FOR Demetri Martin. xD
I enjoy it though, it's interesting.

Awww, I've been wondering if Important Things was ever coming back. I really liked that show. I am however shocked that Demetri is pushing 40! I would have pegged him at 25 tops. I also confess that I used to get him and Arj Barker confused too. They really do look alike. (likewise, back in the day I used to confuse Marc with Jake Johansen).

Thought that Marc was unnecessarily negative about TAKING WOODSTOCK, which, while not a hit, does have its defenders, myself among them.

I was unfamiliar with Demetri before seeing it, but I thought his quiet, un-actorly performance helped ground a film full of fanciful characters. I just felt that Marc gave his negative description of the film as a fact, rather than his personal perception of the film.
