Middle American

Life after The Landmark Forum has been a blast for me ( and most of my friends and family.) Before those 3 days with 200 "strangers", I was intoxicated by my ancient stories of failure and victimhood and drama. Addicted to that stuff like crack cocaine. after TLF , I just saw those old schticks for the drugs that they were and it was like shedding old skins that were no longer applicable to living an awesome life.

There is so much nonsense on the unmoderated internet universe about the LF that is just silly . I recommend it to most people.

Titus can do what most people with his level of success can't: stand back, observe his ego, and own up to bad decisions that he made. He also retains a positive outlook on life and doesn't keep a chip on his shoulder. Never been a huge fan of his comedy, but I respect his work ethic and wish him success.

I've never been a Titus fan which is exactly why I was excited about this interview. Some may prefer the episodes with comedy legends (Larry Miller, Jonathan Winters, Robin Williams). Others the ones with Marc's peers (Patton Oswalt, Louis CK, Paul F Tompkins) which usually lead to some apologies. My faves are those with comics who, though they rarely make me laugh (Joe Rogan, Adam Carolla, Jimmy Fallon), earn my respect. Unfortunately this wasn't one of those. While I enjoyed hearing of the hard lessons learned in dealing with his boss I can't respect someone so gung-ho about the Landmark Forum. While I find my own weekend with Landmark an enjoyable and valuable 20yo memory I don't tell anyone that without mentioning that they're a cold business venture that's hard selling peace of mind.

Another great interview, Marc! Those were great pearls you dropped...and great to hear Titus again - I really liked his show, and lost track of it when Fox started moving it around, interesting to find out how/why it happened.

Wow, I looked at the player twice while listening just to make sure I hadn't accidentally clicked the 1.5x replay button. All parties spoke a mile a minute.

Interesting guy though. I went back and watched some clips his show. Even though it was only 10 years ago, it just didn't feel "right". Surprising how fast television changes.

Fascinating interview though!
