to hear Carl is to remember grace & forgiveness. It was a wild time... So many crazy, brutal realities resolved. Nice to see you put your ghosts to rest, and for Carl to show us what compassion is all about. I remember that Malibu bust... Whew! Hard to believe how out loud they lived.

Carl's story scared the fucking life out of me. It just didn't stop hitting me in the face. Listening to this put me through so many states. I wanted to cry and puke at the same.

Jesus, man, I didn't even know the people involved, and this was heart-wrenching for me. Can't imagine what it was like for you and Carl to rehash this stuff.

    Amazing interview, man.

It's a podcast, on an iPod, which is portable. There is absolutely no reason for me to sit in my car until the end before going inside. And yet I did. Bravo.

Brilliant stuff. A wonderful interview. A fantastic story.
A film was mentioned, and it would make a great one.
    If the casting was right...

    Who would play Marc though?

    Humm......

I saw LaBove tell the story of Sam's death on Pauly Shore's comedy hour recently. I had no idea that story and his great stand-up set were just the tip of the iceberg though. Once again Marc comes through with the whole story. Well done, sir.

On par w/ Steve Pearlman. The only lingering question I have is how that biography of Kinison has lately been touted on some other podcasts. This was such a touching reunion that I wish nothing but the best fer Monsieur Lebove. The creep(ing/y) sentimentality of the Christian Right that they were unwittingly an early part of, and of course backlash against, is stronger than ever nowadays and I'm happy he's come out to speak his mind. If Carl ever comes to Philly I'll be there, just send out the word.

Great interview. The mystique around Sam just grows the more stories are told about him.

Curious, sounds like there was a third person in the garage?

You nailed it again Marc Maron. Do you sometimes consider starting a psychoanalysis practice of some sort? People really do open up when they talk to you, you have that power. Anyway, that was another fascinating chunk of a life story yesterday. Dignified and moving, thanks for that. As soon as I get a decent job, I'm going for the premium subscription my friend.

I listened to this in two hours of traffic. It was the only thing preventing me from getting out of my car and laying down (lying down?) on the 101.
