Marc's on the road with the very funny Maria Bamford. Can they solve the world's problems during an hour-long car ride from Lake Arrowhead? Maybe not, but they'll definitely talk a lot about comedy and maybe even help each other through some relationship issues.
Thank you so much for an amazing show.
This kinda stupid, but once a month, I\'ll blow off classes to drive up and down PCH to just think. And more often than not, I\'m listening to your podcast while doing so. It\'s great.
As for Maria Bamford? My absolute favorite comedian ever? She\'s incredible. What a fantastic conversation. If that be you, Maria, postin\' above me, you\'re the number one. And if that\'s not you postin\' above me, you\'ve stolen the identity of the number one. You\'re aight.
Either way, Maria Bamford is a huge inspiration for me. I, myself have a bucket (a small one) full of problematic anxiety-related disorders. I see a therapist and I take my meds, but thats only part of it. Something that I\'ve found that I can really count on to help me through the darker days is the comedy of Maria Bamford.
Your podcast is the greatest, Marc.

Great interview with Maria \'i don\'t want to hear that bed-time story grandpa\' Bamford.
She is a marvelous comic. What an honest and open conversation - just great!
I\'ve had many disastrous relationships myself and have avoided having a girlfriend for years now. Its not easy, but i find its better than slogging through the mountains of shit that come with having a steady partner. Maybe im just being cowardly - but i swear i\'m happier on my own.
a Curmudgeon. England.
Let us enjoy the consilience....and continue.
You are a Beat poet, Marc.
I am working out a not terribly formal disquisition as to why she strikes me as closer to Lenny Bruce (in his good years, the latter \'50s...at least those good years as captured by Fantasy Records performances) than anyone else around today...you know, aside from the obvious smack abuse, hanging with strippers, writing for \"men\'s magazines,\" etc.
Terribly sorry to hear of the less than happy paths you both have taken at times. If Bamford found her last steady through eHarmony, who utterly reject homosexual folks but apparently have an open-door policy for the physically abusive, I think that says even more than the GLB hostility alone does. (Also, I find it hard to believe that Bamford doesn\'t have prospective dates beating down the doors, but perhaps that\'s part of what makes such filters useful.)(Does anyone respect their groupies?)
