WTF with Marc Maron Podcast
Feb 15, 2010 16

Marc admits to being intimidated by Margaret Cho and then asks her to sit and talk with him for 50 minutes. Shouldn't be too awkward. Hear Margaret tell the story of the first time she heard about Marc and why she was led to believe he was a sex criminal. Also, Marc pitches a new cartoon that should give Pixar a run for its money.

No more Cho. Fitzsimmons constantly has her on his show. I don\'t care about the unfunny, uninteresting slut.

My God Cho is full of herself. I always had a theory that people with elaborate tattoos lacked the self-awareness to be funny. I wished you had talked to her about hers. But really, what an ugly, ugly person. Not physically, either. Just as a person.

I thought this was one of the most illuminating of the conversations that you\'ve had in this podcast series, as well...and Cho\'s speaking voice is remarkably different from her Performance Voice, which always sounds comparitively stressed to me, whether she\'s doing standup or acting...at least in the roles I\'ve seen her in, including a bit of the DIVA series (admittedly not encouraging \"small\" performance).

FWIW, here\'s a link to the BBC radio series THE LAWRENCE SWEENEY MIX, which is interesting to me in part because the improvisers don\'t follow the Yes And rule at will...frequently Josie Lawrence and Jim Sweeney deny the reality the other is going for, or otherwise put mild roadblocks up for each other, and play around them.

I felt Ms. Cho to be highly dysfunctional and sad. She\'s a bit too old to behave in the way she claims to. She seems full of herself, warped and twisted. I feel bad for her. Am I judging? Yes, I am. As a show, yes, it was interesting to listen to both Marc and Cho. Always look forward to the next one.

pornstars are more like athletes than clowns, though there is some overlap in both fields.

Dig the show. I sense a theme emerging from the last few episodes, exploring the issues of intimacy vs. drama. A lot of people can relate to this - especially in this day and age, where it seems as though growing up takes forever (I think our parents and grandparents mostly just pretended to grow up, and had mid-life crises instead). Keep up the good work. BTW: you\'ll be happy to note that the \"captcha\" words for these comments is \"lovelorn if.\"

cool show, Marc. Long time listener from the sheeple days. just go out and sing--be like Iggy--Stooges Karoake!--like Henry Miller said the essential thing is to want to sing. Check out The Reigning Sound\'s album Too Much Guitar-best rocknroll album in ten years

    Marc,

You\'ve ruined porn for me. I detest clowns to somehow eloquently equate porn to a circus act involving clowns in my head has turned me off from porn.

    Maybe that\'s a good thing.
