WTF with Marc Maron Podcast
Sep 6, 2010 18

In a quest to have every former member of The State on WTF, Marc welcomes Thomas Lennon to the garage. They discuss Tom's troublemaking days at the MTV offices, his blueprint for writing Hollywood studio films, and why he gets groped in public when he dresses up as his Lt. Dangle character from Reno 911!

Kudos on being able to leave porn in your history. You have less shame than all us that chronically delete our Internet histories

Marc... it's "CHAMPING at the bit" not "CHOMPING", you're a smart guy, you know this stuff!

I didn't care for this one at all. It was almost entirely a series of barely amusing riffs and interjections until you were able to get him to speak about making studio films.

Good luck with the therapy, Marc. Thoms Lennon is pretty funny. Could you ask him to stop saying "literally" unless he means it? He's hurting the English language.

That was a lot of fun just listening to you and Thomas Lennon just talk. I could have listened to another hour of that. Very enjoyable. Just two funny guys shooting the shit.

    Mr. Maron

In this podcast you jokingly "pitch" a movie about books coming to life titled "Night at the Library". I'll have you know this exact movie was already made, back in 1994 under the name "The Pagemaster". Its like a dream come true that got trapped in a time machine with Whoopi Goldberg... or perhaps just goes to show that studios have been bankrolling jokes for a while now.

Great episode, Marc. It's podcasts like this that remind me why I'm so enamored of your talent, and your uncanny ability to find "the funny" in virtually any and everything.

I've been here since day 1, and have listened to every podcast, and this was by far the most funny, laugh out loud podcast yet! Great show!

That form-filling part at the beginning was genius, joined the sad yoga instructor bit as one of the best moments of the podcast...

Great episode. Definitely one that I could listen to again and again.

I'm going to have to check out Lennon's book.

    . . . fucking all the holes in a miniature golf course . . .

Lennon was pretty funny, although what i enjoyed most was Marc discussing his check list for a therapy session . . .

Hilarious conversation, but he did seem to over-compensate with all of the random 'hot girl' comments.

The bit at the beginning with your therapist's checklist was great. 'Confusion? I don't even know what that means!' I completely missed that one-liner; then, about a minute later in a complete moment of POWWWWW, I did a spit-take with diet dr. pepper.

Awesome episode. Definitely got my tent showing. It sounded like you guys could have talked for hours with a constant level of funny. Feel free to have Thomas back anytime for a marathon podcast.

Thomas Lennon = BEST GUEST EVER. If I were a guy, my tent would be showing. Friggin' genius improv between Marc and the "studio executives." I'll pass on Candyland but will pay to see Night at the Library. More of that, please.
