Get ready for a whole lot of weirdness. Bizarro comedy legend Charles Fleischer (he of Roger Rabbit fame) stops by for one of the strangest appearances ever on WTF. Plus, Australian warmth from Brendon Burns, hilarious passive aggression from Andrew Daly, and remembrances for the dearly departed from Jim Earl round out this live show at UCB LA.
Charles Fleischer for me was nothing more than a brat.
As a full-time music student, I'm around enough egos, I don't need them in my ear in my free time.
I agree.
And I must say.... Jesus christ, people... Get beyond this Pepitone shit. He really isn't that good. He has a funny voice, and he has learned how to modulate it and time his cursing to suit a situation. He doesn't really SAY anything of substance, though. He is like a one calorie version of Lewis Black.
No offense, but I see much funnier people just at open mics in L.A.
P.S. Let's hope this is really, truly, the last we ever have to hear of n---c--k. The fact that some part of Marc, however small, actually thought this would be an attractive slogan reveals so much about him that's just not right at all. :D
Sorry for not using insider comedy biz lingo. To regular people it just means Fleischer didn't say anything funny, not Rodney Dangerfield "jokes" vs whatever terms you guys use.
Lastly - Chad, wash your ears out.
Also, orb photos are ALWAYS flash reflections from dust, insects, fingers, camera straps etc that are close to the camera lens.
As a skeptic I can't let that stuff lie. Do I now qualify for a free nerd-cock T-shirt?
This was amazing, Fleischer was so-so by himself, but with Burns and Daly things went up a few notches. When Daly came out and said he figured out moleeds, the pause until Fleischer plainly said, "Yeah, that's it." was brilliant comedic timing.
And to those complaining about Burns being...burned by Marc and Fleischer. These guys are comedians, if you can't get that Burns was using hit outrage and "losing his warmth" as riffs, then you're beyond help.
Jim Earl was great as usual.
Reminiscent of Robin Williams at his worst. But at least with Williams the egotism and neediness was rooted in cocaine. There was some kind of human context. Fleischer's problem is autism, apparently, which is no fun at all.
I don't think this will help your future bookings, Marc. Other comics will have heard you giggling as Brendan Burns walked into a bandsaw. They'll be wondering can I trust Maron not to do the same to me.
Show was great apart from Charles.
And Brendan and Fleischer were just GREAT together !!
